Hope everyone is having a good June so far! Well... as good as this crazy 2020 will allow us anyways.
Today, I wanted to introduce a very limited product we were able to get our hands on. Baked Caramel, a collaboration product by famous chocolate and caramel manufacturer Morinaga and C Cube. C Cube set off to create a set of collaborations with Japanese companies who have been in business for over 100 years.
In 1899, Taichiro Morinaga—the founder of Morinaga & Co., Ltd. returned to Japan from the United States with an enormous dream in his heart of spreading Western confectionaries throughout Japan. He began manufacturing Western confectionaries in a tiny factory only 2 tsubo (6.6 m2) in size, and eventually, after he joined forces with a partner, Hanzaburo Matsuzaki, the business expanded in leaps and bounds—and Morinaga’s dream became reality.
The collaboration product is a delicious caramel bake, using Morinaga's high quality products. The muffins use plenty of smooth and rich mascarpone cheese from Hokkaido. Hokkaido wheat are used to carefully moisten the fluffy dough, and one by one, Morinaga caramel is inserted into the muffin.
